HPA partnered with MTX to deliver purpose-built Research and Development (R&D) laboratories for SI Group at Four Ashes, near Wolverhampton.
The 600m² single-storey facility houses four specialist laboratories – Analytical, Applications, NDB, and NMR – alongside office space and ancillary areas.
Constructed using Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), the building was manufactured offsite to ensure consistent quality, shortened delivery timelines, and minimal disruption to the operational industrial site.
The design utilises a simple, efficient layout to enhance workflow and laboratory functionality. Sustainability features include a roof-mounted solar PV array, while a robust air handling and filtration system, supported by external ground-level plant, ensures compliance with stringent air quality standards required for specialist lab environments.
This facility enables SI Group to relocate its European R&D operations from Manchester, reinforcing its commitment to innovation in performance additives, process solutions, and chemical intermediates across Europe.
